  • Cameras (bullet/dome/turret, indoor/outdoor)

  • DVR or NVR (depending on the camera type)

  • Hard drive (for recording—1TB or more recommended)

  • Power supply (centralized or adapter-based)

  • Cables (Coaxial + BNC for analog; Cat5e/Cat6 for IP)

  • Monitor or TV (to view footage)

  • Mouse & remote (for DVR/NVR control)

  • Drill, screws, wall plugs

  • RJ45 connectors (for IP cams), crimping tool

     

🔧 3. Installation Steps

📍 Step 1: Plan Camera Placement

  • Cover all entry points (doors, windows)

  • Avoid direct sunlight or light glare

  • Ensure Wi-Fi signal is strong (for wireless)

  • Height: 8–10 feet for outdoor; 7–9 feet indoor


🛠️ Step 2: Mount the Cameras

  • Mark holes using the camera base

  • Drill holes and fix the camera with screws

  • Connect cables (power + video or PoE)


📡 Step 3: Connect to DVR/NVR

  • Analog: Connect via coaxial cable (video) + power

  • IP: Use Ethernet cable (PoE or separate power)

  • Connect DVR/NVR to monitor and hard drive


⚙️ Step 4: Configure the System

  • Power on the system

  • Format hard drive via DVR/NVR menu

  • Set date/time, resolution, and motion detection

  • Add remote viewing via mobile app (e.g., XMeye, Hik-Connect)


🧪 Step 5: Test and Finalize

  • Check all camera feeds

  • Adjust angles and focus

  • Set up recording schedule (continuous or motion-based)


🔒 4. Maintenance Tips 

  • Clean camera lenses monthly

  • Check cables for wear or moisture

  • Regularly check recordings and storage capacity

  • Keep firmware updated
